Town and Country 4-H Rodeo Club
(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) - Up to 150 of the Southwest's best youth rodeo competitors, aged 2-19, will converge on Tingley Coliseum on March 26 at 1pm. They will be competing in nine events for a total purse and prize package worth over $10,000 as Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce and Spices based in Yukon, Oklahoma proudly presents New Mexico's Premier Youth Rodeo - Steerz, Bullz, 'N' da Boyz IV - featuring the stock of PBR Stock Contractor Casper Baca of Grant's, NM.
After two days of competition in Tingley, showcasing the world's 45 best bullriders that the PBR has to offer, SBBIV will let the audience see how the great stars of the PBR got started. SBBIV features the events most commonly known at the "five steps to becoming a bull rider" ...mutton bustin', calf riding, steer riding, junior bull riding, and senior bull riding. Also included are three age groups of barrel racing and cute doggin (steer wrestling without a horse). SBBIV is taking place in Tingley because the PBR has graciously provided the arena set-up.
SBBIV is different from most "kids" rodeos. All contestants pay an entry fee, but 100% of all entry fees are returned to the contestants in the form of prize money, or purse! No portion of contestant entry fees are utilized to offset any portion of the production costs. The cash purse is distributed to the first four place finishers in each event. Prizes are also given to the first four place finishers, including a custom trophy buckle to each and every event winner. No contestant goes away empty handed, as all contestants receive a participation gift.
Production costs are met entirely by the event's many, many gracious sponsors, including Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce and Spices, Bob's Western Wear, Wrangler, Sierra Sports and Bob Turner's Ford Country. Proceeds are generated by the audience in attendance. Admission is reasonable, $7 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and kids 5 and under are free. Tickets are available at Tickets.com outlets in all Furr's stores in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe, as well as by phone and on the Web. Proceeds are distributed between Town and Country 4-H Rodeo Club of Albuquerque and the PRCA's Exceptional Rodeo program, which takes place during the NM State Fair Rodeo in September. Members of Town and Country 4-H Rodeo Club serve as volunteers during The Exceptional Rodeo.
Proceeds also assist Town and Country 4-H Rodeo Club with their other projects throughout the year, including being a Country Cares partner to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, participation in the Bernalillo County, 4-H Fair and Rodeo, and holiday food drives to active duty military personnel through a local American Legion Post.
During the SBBIV, Town and Country 4-H Rodeo Club will be given away an all expense paid trip to the PBR Finals in Las Vegas this October. Raffle tickets for a chance to win this great prize are only $5 each and are available from any T&C Rodeo Club member. The winner will receive round trip airline tickets for two from anywhere Southwest Airlines flies to Las Vegas, room for two for four nights and five days at Caesar's Palace (the host hotel of the PBR Finals), and two tickets for all four performances of the PBR Finals, courtesy of the PBR.
Steerz, Bullz, 'N' da Boyz IV is produced by Circle Bar M Rodeo Productions in association with T&C Arena and Town and Country Feed Store...for Town and Country 4-H Rodeo Club and the youth rodeo contestants of New Mexico and the great Southwest.
