Bodine Perfect In Harrisburg
(HARRISBURG, PA) - Eric Bodine, driver of the Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce Quarter Midget completed a clean sweep during the running of the 22nd Annual Motorama Speedweek in the Harrisburg Farm Complex in Harrisburg, PA.
Qualifying was run on Saturday in the Northwest Building of the Complex. With starting on the pole and winning both races, Eric got the feel of what the cars would need to win on Sunday.
Sunday's 25 lap features found Eric starting deep in the field for both events. A last row starting position of ninth is were the Big Daddy's car would start for the Honda class. With the drop of the green the Big Daddy's car quickly moved through the field, moving into sixth by lap five, then passing two more cars on lap eight Eric moved into the runners up spot on lap ten. With the race slowed down for a caution on lap twelve Eric raced into the lead on the ensuing restart. From that point on Eric would never be challenged for the lead again. Lapping up to the second place car Eric won his first race of the new season.
Lining up in the seventh starting spot for the Super Stuck Class the Big Daddy's car moved up to fifth on the first lap. By lap four Eric slipped into fourth with an inside move going into the third turn. By lap six Eric was up to third but the first and second place cars had built up a sizeable lead by now. Working the lapped traffic to his advantage Eric races into second on lap 19. With the laps winding down time was running out. But with just two laps to go Eric slid the Big Daddy's car into the lead with an inside move off of turn four and went up to win his second race of the weekend.
Eric Bodine Motorsports is very pleased to have Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce as their Major Sponsor again for the 2000 Racing Season. EBM will race over 50 races this season covering five different states. We hope to catch you at the races.
