Big Daddy's Car wins in Maryland

Eight-year-old Eric Bodine driver of the Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce Quarter Midget made his presents known in Hagerstown Maryland by winning his twelfth feature of the season. Making the long haul south to the Hagerstown track, Eric took the Big Daddy's Quarter Midget to an impressive victory, winning the 25th lap A-Main over the always-fast Robbie Kendall in the Candy Man Special.

Starting on the pole Kendall jumped out to a commanding lead. Bodine had his hands full battling for a second with Gage Green. After finally making the pass on Green for a second Bodine set his sights on Kendall, who by now had built up a sizable lead with his sharp looking Bull Rider car. With the laps winding down Bodine chipped away at Kendall's lead with his hard driving style. Bodine finally pulled up to Kendall's back bumper as the two leaders approached lap traffic.

With just two laps to go Bodine ducked down low to pass the lapped traffic and Kendall to take the lead for the first time of the race. From that point on Bodine had to hold off the strong challenges of Kendall to take the win.

This win give the Bodine Team much confidence and momentum heading into this years Grand National Event coming up in August at the Hagerstown facility, Going into the Grands Eric has already won a major event by winning both A-Main features in the Super Stock and Jr. Honda Classes at the Region Two States Race held in Newark Delaware back in May. This years Grands will be held from August 6 to August 12 and will draw close to 500 Quarter Midgets from all across the country to compete at one of the premier Quarter Midget tracks in the country at the Hagerstown facility.

Gearing up for the Grands the Bodine team just received delivery of a brand new John Copeland built Deco engine. With this being the first race with this new motor and coming home a winner, along with all the support from Big Daddy's, should make the Big Daddy's team one of the top teams to beat at this years Grands.
