Gary Smith Finishes 5th At Bank One 250 Winston West Series Race In Salt Lake City, Utah At The Rocky Mountain Raceway

Gary is a four-time International Karting Federation Champion. IMCA Modified Champion in 1990, 1992, and 1993. Finished third in Raybestos Brakes NW Tour Series championship standings in 1995, with one victory. Son of four-time NASCAR Winston West Series champion, Roy Smith. Ran the full NASCAR Winston West Schedule in 1997, winning the Sears Point Raceway Rookie of the Year title and finishing third in championship standings. Returned to the series in 1998 with another third place finish in the standings. During 1999 he ran a limited Winston West schedule, posting 3 top-five finishes. Gary has been part of the contingent of Nascar Winston Cup, Busch Grand National, Craftsman Truck and Winston West Series drivers who have competed in Japan at Twin Ring Motegi over the past two years. 2000 Plans Will be teaming with Hilber Racing during this year's Winston West season with plans to make a serious bid for the 2000 championship.
